Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

Waterbrook Wellness, LLC, owned by Emi Calva-Terada, CMT, NCBTMB, is a professional, medical-based bodywork practice using Dr. Vodder's method called Manual Lymphatic Drainage© (MLD). MLD uses a cutting-edge method to approach the body as a whole by focusing on your lymphatic system.

*Dr. Vodder's method, Manual Lymphatic Drainage© is a industry-standard training, recognized by the medical community outside massage applications. Dr. Vodder's method is exclusively used for international medical research studies published in medical journals.

This non-invasive manual therapy, developed in Europe in the early 20th century, is applied throughout the world and has proven its efficacy as a preferred method prescribed in the medical wellness field.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage© is described as "a light massage therapy technique that involves moving the skin in particular directions based on the structure of the lymphatic systems. This helps encourage drainage of the fluid and waste through the appropriate channels" ¹

The technique works to "clean up" our tissues where congestion in the area had caused stagnation of fluid, and dead cell debris. This blockage leads to prolonged tightness in our muscles, joints, and other parts of the body preventing fresh nutrients and healing to take place.
